#46: An interview with Liquideep

Podcast-Mister-Deejay-Presents-CoverImage2

On the show today we have an interview with Ryzor and Ziyon, a house music duo from South Africa better known as Liquideep.  The band has sold millions of records since their formation in 2007 and their unique brand of soulful house has won them widespread acclaim from fans the world over.

They recently released their latest studio album Welcome Abroad and being a huge fan of theirs, it was a real honour for me to sit wwith them and talk music. After all, that’s the main reason I got into this whole radio malarky. :)

#45: Patrobas drops “Lose your mind”

Podcast-Mister-Deejay-Presents-CoverImage2

On the show today we have an interview with one of Kinetic Management’s newest signees Patrobas. Patrobas  is one of those rappers who everyone in Uganda has heard of but not everyone in Uganda knows very well.  In my opinion his biggest issue, and this is true for both him and his Dustville crew has been exposure and hopefully that will change now that he is signed with Kinetic.  Patrobas had a new single he wanted to share with us called “Lose Your Mind” and we also discussed the Kinetic deal and a bunch of other stuff.

#44: Angela Katatumba’s amazing story

Podcast-Mister-Deejay-Presents-CoverImage2

On the podcast this week we have the incredible story behind Angella Katatumba’s new single Supernatural Girl. I love that we are not restricted for time on SNMS because it allows us to have these kind of extended conversations with artists.

Angella wrote Supernatural Girl after going through a long and harrowing ordeal with her now ex-husband, and with her dad being who he is and with Ugandan society being the way it is, it would have been easier and more convenient for Angella to keep the story quiet. I for one am glad she didn’t.

Former Blu3 girl, current Sundowners front person and Radiocity family member Lilian is my featured guest on the podcast this week. She stopped by SNMS to debut her brand new single “Attention”.

#42: GNL Zamba – Filmu ya maziga & Caezar

Podcast-Mister-Deejay-Presents-CoverImage2

On the show this week I have an interview we conducted with The Legendary GNL Zamba when he released two new tracks on SNMS.

The first is a ballad of sorts (if hip-hop songs can be ballads) called Filmu ya maziga or We Cry and it features Tamar Michel. The second is a more hard-hitting, more traditionally hip-hop track called Caezar (sic).

I can tell you right now that GNL’s manager loves one of these tracks, while it took some convincing for it to be released. All shall be revealed on the podcast!
